Conduct

The Holiday Vintage Ball provides a fun opportunity to step back in time and dress and behave quite differently than we normally would in our modern culture, at such events as a prom or an informal dance.  The Standards of Conduct & Attire (for Ladies & Gentlemen) are designed to ensure that you and everyone around you will be safe and comfortable throughout the evening.
1 Tim. 4:12 "Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."

Each person who attends the Holiday Vintage Ball will be required to sign an agreement to abide by the Standards of Conduct & Attire. Those who choose not to comply with these Standards may not be admitted.  We will do whatever we can to assist you if you should need to alter your attire to meet the standards.  To avoid unneeded stress, please feel free to contact the Committee at the email provided with any questions or concerns.  In the past, we have even looked over photographs, which proved very helpful.  Our goal is for all attendees to have a fun yet God-honoring time.

Standards of Conduct

Attendees need to behave in a respectful, mature manner.  Please give your full attention to the callers as they give instructions on the dances.  Avoid improper male/female physical contact, gossip, slander, profanity and any behavior that draws undue attention to yourself.

Gentlemen should initiate the request to dance with a lady.  Since we often have more ladies than gentlemen present, we encourage the gentlemen to ask many different ladies to dance throughout the evening.

Ladies should allow the gentlemen to initiate a request to dance. A lady should accept an invitation to dance unless she is previously engaged.
1 Pet. 3:3-4 "Do not let your adorning be external -- the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear -- but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious."
